5 Months of Accutane Update

I started Accutane in mid-September and we are now in mid-January. I was feeling discouraged the other day until I realized looking back on an old photo of myself how much my skin texture has IMPROVED. Guys. It’s crazy.

The photo above was taken in September just a few days after I started Accutane, before any results had started to appear. The photo above that was taken in late December for Christmas. Note that my makeup application hasn’t changed much and I still use much of the same products.

I want to say that even some of my fine lines and wrinkles have lessened?? We all know Accutane is supposed to turn over old skin and reduce the appearance of acne scars and redness, but I really wasn’t sure how it work with wrinkles and fine lines. It looks like I have my answer.

As of mid-December I have doubled my dose from 20mg to 40mg everyday. This means I should finish with Accutane in April. I’m very excited to be done as the side effects have taken their toll on me a little bit, with the constant dry lips and inflammation of my joints bringing me down a bit. But it’s become more manageable and as long as I take my vitamins and drink lots of water, it’s not unmanageable. I still wish I would have started Accutane far, far sooner than I did. Listed below are the skincare products I’m currently using in the order I use them. Get in touch if you have questions at all! x
