Why I Wear Makeup

I am a very insecure person.

Most things bother me about myself. My skin is my biggest issue (I’ve made posts on Accutane delving into this deeper) along with my chin, nose, eyebrows – even my elbows bother me. Makeup was something I leaned on and learned to do quite well because when I was younger, my skin was b-a-d. Bad enough that I cried in front of the mirror and felt too “ugly” to go out in public.

To this day I won’t leave the house without concealer on, afraid to show the world my ENORMOUS CYSTIC NODULES (that are thankfully getting better with medication). Not that anyone ever notices. I certainly don’t notice acne on other people, so why would they care what my skin looks like?

Needless to say, I’ve never been confident in my skin. Makeup has helped to lessen how harsh I am on myself, and even get me to love my features because I see how unique they are.

I have a post about a few of Bobbi Brown’s cosmetic products (which you can find here) and I plan to make more reviews on makeup that I use and that has helped me so much over the years.

If anyone has recommendations for products that help with acne coverage or other products that they use and enjoy, please let me know! x
